Happy Armistice Day!

PoppiesWe should call this Armistice Day.

Let’s celebrate the day the guns fell silent
instead of the men and women
who have been fooled
into sacrificing their bodies and minds
for the ambitions of petty men
and the profits of multinational corporations.

To the veterans of the U. S. military,
I owe no gratitude.
I can only apologize
for not doing enough to prevent
the wars in which you fought
and are still fighting.
