My Mother’s Child

My Mother's ChildFriday night I attended the launch party for Pamela Taylor‘s first poetry chapbook, My Mother’s Child. She even granted me the honor of introducing her before the reading. Observant readers of this blog will recall my previous mentions of Pam as a very skilled reader and poet and her performance Friday exceeded even my high expectations. She drew a good crowd of well wishers from all the various aspects of her life and we partied well after she read a few poems from her book.

While I’d seen and heard some of the poems before, actually holding the book was a joy in itself. Her publisher, Hyacinth Girl Press, hand binds each and every copy so the physical book is as beautiful as the words within.

I highly recommend buying a copy.
