The Beach

BeachIt’s the first day in over two weeks where there’s no football to be watched on television or in person and I don’t know what to do with myself. I originally planned to visit the historic center of Salvador and be a tourist but when I woke up, I just didn’t feel like it so, since it’s my vacation, I didn’t do it.

Instead I took a brief walk on the beach, looking for seashells but found only one pathetic example. Sadly, there was a lot of trash on beach which looks like it came from the ocean. Of course, the trash originated on land but I don’t think this trash was brought directly to the beach by humans. It rather was dumped into the ocean by humans and eventually washed ashore.

The seas were much calmer today and we’ve only had one brief shower. While on the beach I played some football with the locals. That’s an exaggeration. They were playing beach football and a couple of times the ball went out of bounds in my direction so I kicked it back to them. It’s kind of like how I would let my little brother play ball with me and my friends where his job was to chase after those we failed to catch.
